Color Me "Authentic"
how much more spiritual can it get?
how much more surreal?
The following polychromatic advice is from The Pantone Guide to Communicating with Color, which is useful in many ways, though the Pantone codes don't seem to quite match in Photoshop's various custom Pantone color pickers. Ah well, it's only technology. The quotes below, however, match exactly. As the book is primarily used in product marketing and corporate communications, I'm going to assume that these require no further comment from me. If you're going, "Yeah? I don't see the problem..." you should leave this page immediately and never return.

spiritual
"Composed primarily of enigmatic purples, meditative blues, dusky mauves, ghostly grays and wispy whites, this is the thought-provoking mystical palette that reaches beyond the heavens into other spheres, exploring unknown realms beyond the physical, creating a sense of the surreal." [p. 76]

buzzwords
"Keep your ears tuned to the newest buzzwords. For example, what does 'authentic' say to you? Does it say real, without artifice, natural, genuine? Could it also mean traditional and/or classic mood? Are spiritualism and a fascination for the supernatural a continuing interest that captures the public attention? If this is so, match the descriptive buzzword to one of the closest moods depicted in this book and that will give you a sense of where the color direction is going as well as the recommended combinations to get you there." [p. 129]

More of Chris Locke's photos |
Until a minute ago, I had no photos. I still have no photos to speak of.
I don't even have a camera. But all these people were linking to "my photos."
It was embarassing. It's still embarassing. But I'm used to that.
