Friday, March 15, 2002 Query Letter To My Publisher Well, I've been kicking around possible titles again, and reading Ray Kurzweil's The Age of Spiritual Machines. I think this book has done pretty well in the market. I mean, the freaking paperback came out in January 2000 and it's still sales-ranked at 729 on Amazon. Mike Brown, chairman of Nasdaq, praised the book as "a compelling vision of the future," and even intellectuals of the caliber of Bill Clinton talked it up to their closest policy advisers (though it looks as if Bill may have been cribbing off Brown in this case): Bill Clinton Calls Many Political Leaders Out of Touch with the Acceleration of Technology at Fortune SummitSo here's my question. What do you think about this for the title of my next book? The Age of Giant Mechanized Carnivorous Weasels from Outer SpaceJust wondering if you think this would be perceived as, you know, compelling. chris 12:00 PM | link | |
